Imagery
The imagery of a wooden toy set instantly captures its allure for children's creativity. The sight of such a toy inspires a sense of exploration and sparks a child's imagination. Incorporating an image of a wooden toy in branding is crucial, as it offers viewers a glimpse of the product and helps create a strong first impression.
Following up with an image (Gordon.2020) mentions that when viewing images, the brain interprets them quickly. The brain perceives words as a collection of tiny pictures and need to identify specific features in the letters to read them. This process takes time. The brain naturally has immediate, visceral reactions to what is seen, as result the brain process images in milliseconds.
Accordingly, to (Thimothy,2022) Customers judge your business and brand based on several factors. These include how your employees dress, how your website looks, the quality of your business cards, and how clean your store is. All these aspects contribute to your brand image. Brand image includes visual elements and feelings about things like speed, reliability, and quality.

The Importance of Vision Board
Creating a vision board with sketch ideas will help refine the successful outlook of my wooden toy. Travers (2024) discusses the importance of establishing clear and specific goals for achieving success. Vision boards allow individuals to express their goals visually, making them more tangible, accessible, and well-defined. Setting challenging yet attainable goals encourages greater effort, persistence, and overall performance.
Concepts for wooden toys are developed on a vision board that resonates with the target audience. The concepts of the wooden toy are provided in the article (Exactbuyer2023). Creating brand guidelines involves several essential steps, starting with defining the brand’s values, mission, and unique selling proposition (USP). This foundation supports the brand identity system, encompassing logos, color palettes, typography, and visual style guidelines. Furthermore, establishing the tone of voice, messaging guidelines, brand personality, and core values helps to reinforce a consistent brand image.

The Color Palette
The color palette for "My Wooden Toy" is composed of deep, warm browns reminiscent of natural wood, paired with soothing shades of blue that evoke a sense of serenity. This carefully chosen combination highlights the product's connection to nature and reinforces its identity as an eco-friendly choice for consumers who value sustainability and craftsmanship.
Color theory is essential for creating designs that effectively communicate messages. According to Pallotte (2024), color theory provides a framework for guiding the use of color in art and design and curating color palettes. It facilitates the effective communication of a design message on both an aesthetic and a psychological level. Visual color does not exist outside individual consciousness. A significant body of evidence shows that color experience is remarkably personal, varying across individuals due to genetics, age, and experience. The same radiant color can appear as very different visual colors, depending on the intensity of the light and the context in which it is viewed. As a practical matter, the connection between a material color and visual color can be highly variable across individuals and viewing contexts.
Through understanding color interactions, artists and designers can evoke specific emotions—such as calmness, excitement, or nostalgia—and shape how an audience perceives their work. For instance, warm colors like reds and oranges can create warmth and energy, while cool colors like blues and greens often evoke serenity and tranquility.
In addition to its artistic applications, color theory plays a crucial role in marketing and branding. Companies strategically choose colors to influence consumer behavior and convey specific messages about their products or services. For example, a brand may use green to suggest eco-friendliness or reliability, while vibrant colors might be used to attract a younger demographic.
Overall, color theory is an essential toolkit for achieving visual harmony and effectively communicating ideas through the thoughtful application of color.

In developing a logo for “My Wooden Toy,” I sketched several designs and focused on crafting one that would capture the target audience's attention. After conducting extensive research, I came up with the idea of using a wooden slice featuring the initials “M.W.T.” A logo mentioned by (Peate 2024) is a good logo that helps customers instantly recognize your company, distinguish it from other brands in your industry, and gain insight into what your brand represents. More than any other asset, a logo captures your customers’ attention and enhances brand recognition. This is why the importance of a logo should not be underestimated. Logo sketching, mentioned by (Elliot 2023), is a vital component for any business or organization. A thoughtfully designed logo not only helps establish a strong brand identity but also communicates key messages to customers. However, developing an effective logo necessitates careful planning and execution. Among the most significant steps in the logo design process is sketching.

Thesis: Solving Problems PLO
Solving Problem
In design, the “problem" typically revolves around the client's concerns: boosting revenue, enhancing audience engagement, increasing awareness, and so on. As the brand is fictional, it's essential to pinpoint the challenges this hypothetical client encounters. Begin the written section of this page by succinctly outlining the specific issue the client faces regarding this design project in one to two sentences.
Company X is navigating a challenging period with declining revenue, as our cherished wooden toys are not capturing the target audience like before. However, we are excited to explore fresh ideas to rejuvenate our logo and products.Company X is currently facing a challenge related to its brand identity. Greever (2020) emphasizes that design research is an essential process for businesses, as it helps identify client needs and leads to successful consumer outcomes. This process involves gathering information and analyzing data using the designer's expertise. The designer interprets client feedback, merging their desires and requirements with the creative process to develop high-quality brands. Without a designer’s insights and skills, there could be limitations to customers' willingness to spend money, which might result in reduced sales margins. Therefore, design research is crucial in providing excellent customer experience. Understanding clients' needs is not just about building relationships; it's about creating a successful career as a designer. Effective client communication, involvement in decision-making, timely feedback, and consistent availability are not just techniques.
They are the pillars of a designer's career strategy. As ( Fedders, 2024) noted, effective communication between designers and clients is essential for achieving successful outcomes. However, interacting with clients can sometimes present challenges. Haley suggests that it is essential to remain calm, listen actively to their concerns, and proactively address any issues that may arise. This approach can help designers feel more prepared and capable when facing challenges. Communicating effectively with clients reduces the likelihood of adverse outcomes, while positive results can be encouraged.

When developing a logo for “My Wooden Toy,” the designer should sketch several concepts. I conducted extensive research to create a logo that effectively captures the target audience's attention. A previous example featured a set of blocks standing upright, each displaying an initial. However, the messaging in that design was unclear to the audience.
After brainstorming and sketching various ideas for the company's new logo, I envisioned a slice of wood that symbolizes the environment and reflects the company's values. This concept led me to use a wooden slice with prominently displayed " M.W.T. " initials.

Evidence Of Success
Design research is vital for businesses as it helps to understand client needs and achieve successful consumer outcomes. This process involves gathering and analyzing data through a designer's expertise, blending client input with creative inspiration to create high-quality branding. Without this insight, customer spending may decline, potentially affecting profit margins. Thus, design research is essential for delivering exceptional customer experience.
Solution 1
In this example, various problem-solving methods are explored, with qualitative research being one of them. In a text (Lapan,2011), understanding this research method involves collecting data through observations, techniques, and interviews with the client. For instance, if a client wants to improve their selling margins, the designer can create a list of questions to identify their basic needs. Techniques such as markups or group meetings can be used to discuss potential solutions for the product in question. One approach the company can experiment with is developing a logo brand.
Solution 2
One characteristic (Bhasin,2023) mentioned is that design research often utilizes case studies. The purpose of these case studies is to give designers the freedom to explore various methodologies and potential outcomes. By investigating different options, designers can apply techniques that align with the client's wants and needs, leading to a more thoughtful design process. This approach can ultimately enhance a client’s product profitability. Additionally, exploring case studies can help identify new target audiences that may not have been considered when the company was initially established.

Consider the feedback you received throughout the development of your Thesis Project. What did this feedback reveal? How do you interpret its significance in relation to the overall brand identity design? What is the value of this feedback? Keep in mind that not all feedback is equally important, nor is it always relevant to the brand vision. Explain why certain feedback is deemed suitable or unsuitable. Which elements of this feedback did you integrate into your work? How and why did you do so? Discuss the insights gained from this input and the adjustments made in response. Additionally, which parts of the feedback were disregarded? Why was this input not included in your work?

1. Design Challenge: Brand Vision Boards Brand DevelopmentDo not let mistakes discourage you; use them to enhance your skills as you progress in the MDMFA Program. Learning new software and developing your “design eye” both require time and practice. The aim is not to achieve perfection immediately but to make steady progress, so enjoy your growth! Remember, you should cultivate your quality sensibilities as you demonstrate increasing mastery. As discussed in the live sessions, you must awaken and refine your “design eye” for your work and those you will lead in the future—the feedback from the instructor by using the critiques positively, which allowed the work to speak for itself. The brand vision board was steady during the assignments for this month. The induction design process included more research, leading to greater design appeal. Regarding the feedback, the designer agreed that critiques were added to the previous work and would improve further with the instructor's positive outcomes.
Rationale highlights strong points and effectively guides us through the concepts; however, there is an opportunity for further elaboration. Most rationales emphasized the significance of revisions and the use of specific elements, yet the connection to the individual logos being analyzed could be more precise. Practical design refinement can lead to innovative features or improvements that distinguish the product in the marketplace, contributing to its commercial success (Fiveable Inc., 2024). During this refinement process, the suggestions were applied and utilized in subsequent assignments. In contrast, the designer's feedback on logo refinement was added throughout the project assignments.Fiveable Inc (n.d.). Design refinement. The final two designs effectively present a monochrome version and a full-color variant. However, the monochrome depiction of the wooden section does not correspond with the full-color design, and the name seems omitted. Additionally, the text within the stacked blocks may be challenging to read at smaller sizes. Positioning the name next to the blocks may be beneficial while incorporating the initials. The materials and rationale behind the logo are commendable, providing a strong visual for both options.
When it comes to logo design feedback, redefining and applying these insights as needed is essential. To enhance problem-solving capabilities, emphasizes that understanding brand identity and exploring new sources of inspiration are vital steps before converting these ideas into an engaging design.
2 Design Challenge: Writing Ad Copy for Print
COMMENTS
- Benefit: What benefit does the core message provide the target audience?
- What makes this unique and compelling in the marketplace?
- Why should the reader take the time to go through all the copy and respond?
Your ad copy is strong but be cautious of unnecessary capitalization. For example, instead of writing "Hey, can you," it should be "Hey, can you..."
The layout of your ad needs improvement. The image and headline are in the correct positions, but the body copy should span two columns, as outlined in the sketch. You do not need white boxes in the InDesign file. Additionally, your ad is missing the logo and the call to action. Please ensure you follow the assignment directions completely.
In this assignment, several refinements were made to revise the creative brief. The main benefit for the target audience in the voiceover was to convey that the dog was lonely and needed a home. After viewing the ad, the audience should immediately feel the dog's loneliness. Adjustments to grammar and layout have been implemented. In this assignment, several refinements were necessary to revise the creative brief. The voiceover's primary goal was to effectively communicate the dog's loneliness and the need for a home. After watching the ad, the audience should immediately connect with the dog's sense of isolation.

3. Writing Advertising Copy for
Audio Lucky dog
Excellent job, Timmie. Your script effectively addresses the Creative Brief and tells a compelling story that encourages a positive response from the target audience. Your tone is clear and conversational, though it would receive help from some added rehearsal. Be sure to consistently use the client’s full name, Lucky Dog Rescue Orlando, throughout the process. Avoid abbreviating it to Lucky Dog Rescue. Incorporating a music bed and/or sound effects that align with the brand's voice and tone would also be beneficial. The audio quality was excellent, free of mistakes or extraneous noises.
About your instructor's feedback, incorporating music throughout the assignment would elevate its overall impact. This addition will enhance the sophistication of your work and prove a deeper level of thoughtfulness.

9. Finalize Brand and Plan Media
This schedule outlines how to manage each class day. Every Monday, I will include lectures and video participation. On Tuesday, I will review the material and continue with the lectures, followed by a quiz. The assignments are due on Wednesday because I work late in the evening, but I can adjust to this if needed. The rest of the week is flexible. I will allocate time as necessary based on any conflicts that may come up.
The brand “My Wooden Toy” will attract the target audience with a letterhead package with promotional giveaways. For instance, we can customize the logo for each business card, which is a portable advertisement.

10 Prototyping Continues Finalize Brand and Plan Media
After revisiting the production schedule, several decisions were made to revamp the letterhead, influenced by previous critiques. Additionally, this week, we will implement a new mastery journal. Having a production schedule is a valuable technique for paying attention to details throughout the week.
Reviewing past critiques was decided to enhance the creative process based on the previous letterhead draft. The modern design incorporates more intricate elements, a refreshed logo, and an updated color palette, contributing to increased engagement. This letterhead is intended to be a walking advertisement on paper, allowing clients to jot down notes or record contact information. It has an intriguing and engaging piece featuring a textured background and logo, crafted to create a "wow" factor and deliver striking visual appeal to customers.
Additionally, a research article by Prolific Studio (2024) highlights the importance of logo animation in strengthening brand identity. Brands go beyond mere products; they embody the emotional connections and experiences that consumers cultivate. Animated logos can express a brand’s personality, values, and essence far more vividly than their static counterparts.

My notes align with those from the last term. Begin by selecting all the drawn objects and changing their color to a high-contrast shade like red. Then, adjust the blending mode in the Transparency panel to "Difference." This method will help you identify any mistakes, making corrections more straightforward. Next, examine each object closely and utilize the Direct Selection tool (A) or the Anchor Point Tool (Shift+C) to refine each element, ensuring they closely align with the template. Strive for a pixel-perfect reproduction.
The instructor's feedback has been incorporated, making the design challenge more manageable. This approach facilitates additional practice in real-life scenarios with clients who depend on designers' professional skills.

11.Prototyping Completed Media Assets Production Multi-Platform Delivery
According to the critique, the logo was too long and had a jerky jumping effect. The background blurs and does not capture the essence of the 4-second clip.
Upon reviewing the previous work from week 3, the critique suggested that the animation was too long and advised adjusting the fonts' movement. Additionally, all subject matters should be aligned with the music clip. Adjusting the moving background will help ensure that the logo and fonts are manageable, and the animation is coherent.
(Greever,2020) He mentions that a client's response is an opportunity to discuss why your design is superior and visually demonstrate how it will be effective. Identifying and expressing these differences is a crucial skill for communicating design decisions. Providing a comparison for consumers is also a great idea. The goal is to offer a visual reference without questioning the most effective approach. The company can increase its revenue by aligning with client needs and applying critiques professionally.

Acquiring Competencies PLO
1 The Components of a Successful Designer-Client Relationship
When working with clients, three critical steps must be followed: defining their needs, communicating clearly, and fulfilling those needs. Each step has fundamental principles, making it distinct yet equally crucial despite their benefits and drawbacks. Numerous case studies illustrate how designers define client needs, highlighting the overlap between these steps. Defining a client’s needs is essential in the design process; without this crucial step, it’s nearly impossible to consider a project truly successful.
Communication in this coursework is not only a key component of class assignments; it is the lifeline for clients and designers, enabling effective collaboration for the brand. This process allows designers to engage with the target audience through case studies and surveys.
2. Brand
Brands and branding extend beyond simple advertising and product sales. While customers indeed drive business, understanding their needs during brand interactions is essential. Brands should pursue business with their audiences and continuously seek ways to engage and connect with them. Humans often assess messages and experiences emotionally rather than just logically.
Without a fundamental grasp of what it takes to build a brand, it's crucial to understand the skills needed to turn a brand idea into reality, whether for a future client or while rebranding an existing concept.
3. Art vs. Design
With a background in visual art and design, the relationship between art and design can be like that of primary colors and design principles, resulting in a final product. However, what sets them apart? What exactly is art, and what is design? For centuries, art and design have been closely linked and have drawn from various fields such as mathematics to give life to ideas. While it can be difficult to define the differences between art and design, to explain the key distinctions between the two disciplines
Why is the subject important? It helps define the role of each in their designs. Art, in its own way, helps distinguish fine art from the function of design. Design is a branch of art that supports the visual world.
4. Design Research
. In design research, various approaches exist for problem-solving methods, one of which is qualitative research. This method involves gathering data through observations, techniques, and client interviews. In this year's class, the topic of qualitative research was introduced during our design research assignment. Qualitative research focuses on collecting and analyzing non-numerical data to better understand concepts, opinions, or experiences. It is beneficial for obtaining in-depth insights into a problem or generating new research ideas.
5.brand's tone
A brand's tone of voice encompasses how it engages with its audience through messaging and customer interactions. It involves the selection of words, the brand's personality, and the emotional undertone of its communications. The tone of voice establishes the foundation for client campaigns; without it, the target audience and stakeholders may not be effectively engaged. This tone ultimately reflects the brand's overall performance.
This is a comprehensive list of all the design concepts, theories, strategies, and applications used in my degree program. I listed the most important ones related to my growth process at Full Sail University.
6. The Client and the Designer
Understanding clients' needs goes beyond simply building relationships; it is essential for cultivating a successful career as a designer. Effective communication with clients, active involvement in decision-making, timely feedback, and consistent availability are not just techniques, they are the foundational pillars of a designer's career strategy. These elements empower clients, enhance their brand-building capabilities, and help distinguish them in the marketplace. Truly effective communication is not merely a skill but a strategic approach to career development.
The collaboration between the client and the designer is crucial; their success hinges on their ability to work together harmoniously. The designer must communicate clearly, present designs effectively, and provide feedback that aligns with the client’s needs.
7.Brand in communications
Three key factors highlight the significance of a robust design brand in communications: return on investment (ROI), qualitative research, and product development methodology. ROI is crucial because a strong brand effectively resonates with the target audience, providing them with compelling reasons to engage and contribute to revenue generation. Qualitative research is essential for collecting data that forms the foundation of a brand's identity. Without this vital step, a brand risks losing its distinctiveness amid a sea of competitors.
8.Measuring Design Effectiveness
What is Design Effectiveness? It pertains to a project's final output and includes various methods for assessing its effectiveness. This encompasses the processes of researching, developing, distributing, and analyzing surveys, as well as understanding the hierarchy of user needs, applying the design staircase model, and conducting peer reviews. It is essential to select only those methods that accurately measure the extent to which the desired outcomes are achieved.
9. Design strategy
A design strategy is a crucial deliverable that aids teams in maintaining focus and defining their goals and the scope of their work. It serves as a blueprint for how design should align with both business and user objectives.
An essential aspect of the design strategy is its ability to guide clients, in collaboration with designers, to concentrate on what truly matters for the company. It emphasizes the significance of brand elements, such as the logo, and their long-term impact on ROI investments.
10.Research: Design Strategy Components
The Design Strategies component consists of Needs, Benefits, and Features, all of which are crucial in addressing gaps that the target audience may not even realize they have or desire from a company. Benefits refer to the outcomes experienced from using the product, integrating the two components of characteristics of the products being sold.
These key components work together as follows:
Needs represent the gaps within your target market, irrespective of their awareness.
Benefits denote the outcomes of using a product that effectively addresses these gaps.
-Features are the capabilities or attributes of a product that enable users to attain those benefits.
11. Identify a theme/style
Brand style guides are essential for maintaining consistent branding. They include elements such as colors, typeface, logos, imagery, patterns, and taglines. These guides help create a unique brand identity. In developing my own theme and style of the wooden toy, I learned that it is important to use all essential elements to develop any brand. If the theme and style of a brand are confusing or misleading, it's difficult for a company to build a working relationship with a designer, which could include future mishaps with other companies.
